Seriously. Parents lie to their kids to get them to be good and the kids think that if they’re “good”, then they will get exactly what they want. So, what if the kids think they are good and they don’t get what they want because the parents don’t think they should get it, or the parents can’t afford it, or it’s the trendy toy of the second and the stores were sold out? What does that teach the kids? That it doesn’t matter? Then, the parents tell the kids that Santa Claus is made up. So the parents admit that they were lying and bribing the kids. So the kids lose faith in the parents. (And even in some families, wonder if the parents were lying about God and Jesus, too.)

Gee, there is nothing immoral about Santa Claus.

I like the idea of St. Nick, though. Doing something with that might be a nice compromise with my husband and me. (My husband, the pastor, wants to do Santa with our kid[s]. I don’t want to because of what I said.)

People who don’t believe in Santa Claus are immoral, sadistic, babby eaters and child molesters. And they’re gay. You cannot prove that Santa Claus doesn’t exist. Non-believers will freeze in the south pole forever and ever. They just don’t want to admit that there is a Santa because then they would have to be good instead of the monsters they are. They secretly want to be close to Santa, but they just pretend not to believe so they can rape children, but they will answer for their sins one day. Don’t cry for mercy when you receive a big fat lump of coal in your stocking. You will pay when Santa checks his list twice…

You make a valid point. There is no such thing as a “bad” person for not believing in Santa Claus. I just always had fun with it, even as an adult. And you’re right, NOBODY should have to be bribed into loving and helping people. And, as a christian, I don’t have to be bribed to help people out. It’s what I am, and how I was brought up. Don’t let anybody tell you you’re nothing because you don’t believe in Santa Claus. To each his own. The important thing is remembering the birth of Christ, and remembering those in need with love and respect, and being with our families. If people would think about THAT aspect of it rather than Santa Claus, the world would be a much better place.

I think it is the innocence card. Look at mentally handicapped people. They have the intelligence of children and everyone loves them. No sex, drinking, smoking, bad language; basically, people want you to stay a child. It makes you less of a threat and, in their minds, it makes you easier to control because you are following their plans.

You see? Everything is hunky-dory when THEIR plan is the right one. As soon as you get teenagers or adults who can think for themselves, things go awry. That’s why they want you to be ‘innocent children’.
